Jan McCormick, President

Resident of Spring Green since 2005. Retired. Formerly marketing and communications executive with a national nonprofit, YMCA of the USA, headquartered first in New York City then Chicago. Started communications career with United Way of Dane County before being recruited to United Way of America in Washington, DC. Received BA degree in Journalism from UW-Madison and completed graduate work in Mass Communications. Father was a theatrical producer in New York City and produced summer stock theatre in the Hamptons on Long Island, thus my love for live theatre. Community volunteer leading the Spring Green Literary Festival Board that sponsors community reads of plays in advance of American Players Theatre season, formerly on the Arts Coalition Board. I am honored to serve on the Board for Two Crows Theatre Company.

Robert Birkhauser, Vice President

In addition to a long career in business Robert (Bob) Birkhauser is also a devoted supporter of Youth, Education, and the Arts. Before retiring in 2021, Bob had over 40 years of experience in the auto glass replacement and repair industry. He was formerly President/Owner of Aegis Tools International, Inc.and before that, Chairman/President and principal owner of Auto Glass Specialists, Inc. In 2010, Bobreceived the Carl F. Tompkins Award for Excellence and Advancement of Auto Glass Safety, the industry’s highest award. He held nine US patents and additional related foreign patents for automotive glass tools. Bob is an ex-officio and founding member of the board of the Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards Council, Inc (AGRSS). Formerly, he served on the American Players Theatre Board (President), Edgewood College Board of Trustees, Madison Repertory Theatre Board (President), Madison Symphony Board, Madison Symphony Orchestra Foundation Board, Madison Club (President), AAA Wisconsin Board of Directors and others. Bob is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Madison. He and his wife, Caryn, divide their residence between Spring Green, Wisconsin and Tucson, Arizona, and have three grown children and one grandchild.

Mary Lloyd-Jones, Treasurer

I was born & raised in Iowa City, Iowa. I received a BA in Political Science at the University of Iowa & then studied public policy at the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. In 2003 I moved to the Wyoming Valley and now live on my great-grandfather’s land. I am a retired tax professional (but I still volunteer for AARP Tax Aide) and serve as treasurer for several small nonprofits. I am the Clerk for the Town of Wyoming and work part-time in the APT Box-office.

Sam Van Hallgren, Secretary

Sam Van Hallgren moved to Spring Green with his wife, Carrie, and their three kids in 2015. He is the co-founder and producer of the long-running film podcast and radio show Filmspotting. He has worked in radio in Chicago (WBEZ, This American Life), Milwaukee (Radio Milwaukee), and North Carolina (WDAV).

Nancy Baenan, Member

Nancy Baenen is the Manager of Arcadia Books in Spring Green. She and her husband Mark moved here in 1995 and are grateful to have raised their children, Harper, Cameron and Isabella, in this wonderful community. Nancy also serves on the boards of the Spring Green Arts & Crafts Fair, The RIver Valley School District Endowment Fund, River Valley Dance Advancement, and the Gard Theater. 

Craig Benzine, Member

Craig Benzine has been an internet video creator for 16 years under the name Wheezy Waiter. He also happens to be a childhood friend of Marcus who stole all the good parts in high school plays from him. However, he’s not bitter, obviously, because he’s a Two Crows board member!

Caryn Birkhauser, Member

I am thrilled to serve on the Two Crows Board and help bring winter theater back to the Spring Green area. My husband Bob and I moved to Spring Green 7 years ago. I am active on the 4PeteSake Charity board, volunteer at Taliesin and for our condo association. My professional background is in natural resource and community economics (B.S & M.S. UW-Madison), but I spent most of my career as an operations manager in our family business. I retired in 2023. I enjoy gardening, travel and stitching embroidery of my own design. Bob and I have three grown children and one granddaughter. As a native of New York City, I was fortunate to attend live theater at an early age and am a lifelong theater lover. I am committed to supporting great theater for present and future audiences!

Jennifer Snow, Member

Jennifer Snow is a Spring Green resident who teaches music at River Valley Middle School. She has been a part of the community for 26 years and currently serves as a trustee on the village board. Jennifer has been involved with the local community theatre organization River Valley Players, and works at American Players Theatre as the ACT Camp Administrator. 

Leah Spicer, Member

Leah Spicer was born and raised here in Wisconsin. She owns two restaurants in Spring Green with her husband, Kyle. Together they have three children and farm 40 acres. Leah serves at Town Clerk for the Town of Clyde. She loves to sew, knit, and make things in her spare time. A long time lover of theatre, both off the stage and on the stage, she is thrilled to be on the Board of Two Crows Theater Company.

Rob Doyle - Co Artistic Director and Actor

Robert R. Doyle (Artistic Director/ Jerry in The Thin Place) is thrilled to be bringing back Two Crows Theatre. A Long Island, New York native, Robert moved to Spring Green in 2014 to work in the acting apprentice company at the American Players Theatre and has stayed here ever since. APT credits include Balthazar in Much Ado About Nothing, Friar John in Romeo & Juliet, Cuigy in Cyrano de Bergerac, Slender in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Mario in The Game of Love and Chance, among other appearances in The Doctor’s Dilemma, Othello, A View From the Bridge, Pride & Prejudice, and A Flea in Her Ear. His most recent undertaking was understudying nine roles this past season, which included becoming fluent in American Sign Language. Other regional credits include: Illinois Shakespeare Festival - Fabian in Twelfth Night, Horatio in Hamlet, Prentiss in Peter & The Starcatcher; Door County Shakespeare Festival - Claudio in Much Ado About Nothing, and Antipholus of Ephesus in Comedy of Errors. He has performed Young Scrooge in both the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre and Children’s Theatre of Madison A Christmas Carols. In 2019 Robert founded Two Crows Theatre Company, which produced two full seasons in which he acted in Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me as Michael, and in Down The Road as Bill Reach. He’d like to thank you all for the warmest welcome back, His Mom Betsy for her relentless support, and Rae for “putting up with me”. Cheers!

Marcus Truschinski - Co Artistic Director

Co-artistic Director Marcus is an actor, director, musician, and writer living in Spring Green, WI. Marcus has been a member of American Players Theatre’s Core Acting Company for 21 seasons. Credits at APT include: the titular role in Macbeth, Mr. Darcy in Pride & Prejudice, Biff in Death of a Salesman,  Chris Keller in All My Sons, Henry Carr in Travesties, Algernon in The Importance of being Earnest and Angelo in Measure for Measure.  Marcus directed the World premiere of A Christmas Haunting and played Edward in Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me at Two Crows. He’s appeared regionally in the world premiere of Ten Chimneys at Arizona Theatre Co and in the world premiere of Old Glory at Writers’ Theatre.  Other regional credits: Every Brilliant Thing and Sherlock Holmes in The Hound of the Baskervilles, Tony in Dial M for Murder, Father Flynn in Doubt, and Mr Burns/Matt in Mr Burns, A Post Electric Play. Film: One Foot In, Witnesses, (nominated Best actor,  Midwest Independent Film Festival.) Marcus plays Ronald Reagan in Paper Girls on Amazon Prime Video.
